Zoe Abrahamson, Public Sector PA/Team Administrator
Role: providing adminstrative support to the Public Sector Programme and helping to co-ordinate its events. She administers Forum's work with The Natural Step International, which is an international NGO that licenses its Framework to Forum for the Future. She provides PA support to Deborah Fox, director, and Helen Clarkson, deputy director of the Programme.
Background: Prior to joining Forum for the Future in February 2008 Zoe worked as a PA to the director of a modern dance company. She was involved in event management and research for the company. She has also worked as a research intern for JustMeans; a socially responsible social networking site.
Education: Zoe has a MA in Sustainable Development from Middlesex University with a focus on natural disasters and a BA in Politics from the University of Liverpool.

Gemma Adams, Senior Sustainability Advisor
Role: advising and managing a number of Forum's partnerships and projects. Gemma specialises in the strategic business case and embedding sustainable development in regional and local government; organisational change and leadership development; and managing positive climate change resilience- including implementing concepts of low carbon economy.
Gemma recently led Forum for the Future’s partnership project with Advantage West Midlands to develop a leading low carbon regional economic strategy and projects which involved shaping large regional projects covering decentralised energy infrastructure, smart working, regional investment fund, low carbon transport and strategic public procurement.
Background: Prior to joining Forum for the Future in December 2004, Gemma worked for a community development charity, actively promoting partnership working, community participation and advising voluntary and community sector organisations on volunteer management systems. Gemma travelled independently for three years, over which time she held a range of positions from English teacher, to organic farmer, to guest-house manager.

Jenny Barker, Senior Sustainability Advisor
Role: Building capacity within local government to deliver sustainable development, particularly with relation to climate change, waste management, procurement, community planning and tourism.
Background: Jenny has extensive experience in designing and facilitating workshops with a range of stakeholders from a range of sectors. Prior to joining Forum, she worked as a Senior Environmental Policy Adviser with the Confederation of British Industry and as a consultant with Economic Research and Advisory Services Ltd providing advice to business on environmental management, policy and regulation. Jenny has nine years experience of consultancy in the business sector, specialising in the field of sustainable development in business and the public sector. Jenny is on sabbatical until January 2009.

Anna Birney, Head of Leadership and Change
Role: leading our work programme on leadership and change, which will ensure individuals and organisations show leadership for sustainability so as to create the change that is necessary in the public sector.
Background: Anna previously worked within the social change team at WWF-UK, with a primary focus on the Education system. She worked with schools at an organisational development level enabling them to place sustainability at the heart of their operations, local authorities to understand strategically and practically how to bring about change and the National Government and its associated bodies in creating appropriate policy frameworks. She was instrumental in progressing the DCSF's Sustainable Schools National Framework, where work she had developed at WWF-UK were used as national tools. Prior to this Anna worked at Stakeholder Forum supporting participation and lobbying for policy changes at the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development. Anna is also a trained facilitator and has extensive experience in designing and cultivating change through running the appropriate workshops and processes.
Education: Anna has a BA in Geography from Manchester University and is studying for a PhD in Action Research and the Challenge of Sustainability at CARPP, University of Bath.

Dr Ann-Marie Brouder, Head of Regions
Role: Ann-Marie manages Forum's work in the regions, including its regional partnerships and the Regional Futures Network. Her main focus is on embedding sustainable development into regional organisations' practices and strategies.
Background: Ann-Marie joined Forum in 2002 as a Senior Strategic Adviser. Before joining Forum, she worked as a Research Fellow with the University of Reading, managing and researching EU projects across Africa and Europe. She also spent three years in the University of Malawi researching social development, training and climate information. Additional experience has included work with environmental consultancies in Dublin, and as an EU Funding Officer in Brussels. Ann-Marie's portfolio of work covers a range of regional and sustainability issues including spatial planning, long-term thinking and capacity building, in addition to integrating sustainable development into plans, processes and strategies. Ann-Marie is also a trained facilitator and has extensive experience of designing and facilitating workshops with a wide range of stakeholders.
Education: Ann-Marie has a PhD in small-scale enterprises in Africa, an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and a degree in Commerce.

Tom Chambers, Senior Sustainability Advisor
Role: Tom works with the public and private sectors on systematic approaches to achieving sustainable places and organisations. Drawing on rigorous frameworks such as The Natural Step Framework and Five Capitals, Tom provides advice on overarching strategy and implementation. Particular focus areas include sustainable consumption and production, procurement, climate change, and human needs.
Background: Prior to joining Forum in 2005, Tom’s sustainability work traversed the charity and consultancy sectors as well as various habitats involved in making wildlife TV programmes. Tom’s BSc in Ecology provided an opportunity to study the pure science of ecological systems as well as psychological aspects of people-environment relationships. During his MSc, Tom undertook research for the Federation of Tour Operators on the environmental impacts of package holidays, and also trained in environmental auditing, assessment (EIA and SEA), waste management, management systems (EMS), and tools such as ecological footprinting.

Helen Clarkson, Deputy Director
Role: Helen oversees the delivery of the Public Sector Programme.
Background: Before joining Forum, Helen worked for six years for the aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières, spending most of her time managing health programmes in conflict-ridden countries and finally working as Head of Finance of MSF-UK. Prior to that, Helen worked for Deloitte in their public sector consulting team.
Education: Helen has an MA in Philosophy from Cambridge University and a MSc in Business Strategy, Politics & the Environment.

Nicky Conway, Principal Sustainability Advisor
Role: Building capacity within regional government to deliver sustainable development, particularly around organisational change and climate change.
Background: Nicky previously worked for the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) in Melbourne, Australia. During this time Nicky managed several projects in partnership with local government on topics such as green procurement, triple bottom line and greenhouse rating schemes for commercial buildings. Prior to this, she worked at the Environment Agency in Leeds.

Geraldine Creaven, Masters Programme Manager
Role: Managing the Leadership for Sustainable Development Masters programme.
Background: Geraldine has extensive experience in work-based learning environments, having previously worked at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s College. She has also worked as a Relate counsellor and managed the secretariat of an HIV/AIDS clinic.

Fiona Dowson, Senior Sustainability Advisor
Role: Fiona joined Forum for the Future in March 2007 and is now leading Forum’s work on sustainable procurement. Fiona also works with businesses, particulary those that supply the public sector, to help them develop their approaches to sustainable procurement and supply chain management. She works with Local and Regional Government, the NHS and Central Government Agencies to help them develop tools and strategies for integrating social and environmental criteria into their procurement.
Background: Prior to joining Forum For The Future in 2007 Fiona worked in local government for 5 years specialising in waste management and sustainable transport as well as working on broader procurement, planning, and sustainability projects. She has also worked in the voluntary sector, on projects ranging from domestic energy efficiency research to community consultation about flood plain management, and has experience of providing resource efficiency advice to businesses. Fiona has travelled extensively Europe and Africa as well as in India and Nepal to undertake community based projects in partnership with local community groups including environmental education, appropriate technology dissemination and health promotion work.
Education: Fiona has a BSc in Geography from the University of Birmingham and is currently completing a MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Management with Staffordshire University. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Audrey Healy, Finance and Communications Officer
Role: Audrey manages the team's finances, time management systems and communications.
Background: Before joining Forum, Audrey spent six years in television, producing documentaries on topics ranging from military history to eastern religions. She has filmed across Europe, in the USA, Australia and India.
Education: Audrey has an BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and is currently studying for a MSc in Sustainable Development with Exeter University.

Susan Warren, Head of Sustainable Cities
Role: Susan heads up Forum’s Bristol project, which aims to support the development of Bristol as the most sustainable city-region in the UK.
Background: Susan has extensive experience in the environmental and community sectors. She has worked primarily in voluntary organisations at a strategic and operational level, to deliver projects in the fields of: access and recreation; biodiversity; health and well-being; community regeneration; education; art and heritage. Her most recent post was as Deputy Director of Groundwork North Northamptonshire, leading the organisation’s work on green infrastructure, community engagement, environmental management systems, fundraising and partnership development. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the National Forest Company, a large-scale environmental initiative to reforest 200 square miles of former coalfield land in the midlands.
Education: Susan has an MA in Geography and MSc in Environmental Science.

Anna Warrington, Sustainability Advisor
Role: Working with partners to build sustainability capacity amongst local and regional government and central government offices. Anna has a particular focus on procurement and building sustainable supply chains, but is also involved in modelling a low carbon region, advising on effective strategy building and learning from best practice in a variety of different sustainability issues including waste minimisation.
Background: Anna joined Forum for the Future in 2007 from a small Argentine charity that aims to build sustainability learning into the Argentine school curriculum and promote tangible action on sustainable development within communities. Previously, Anna has worked within both the private and public sector on system design, implementation project work and procurement strategy building for central government.
Education: MA in Sustainable Business from the University of Leeds, and a BSc (hons) Business Administration from the University of Bath.

Jane Wilkinson, Course Director for Forum Masters Programme and Principal Sustainability Adviser
Role
Jane is Course Director for the Forum Leadership for Sustainable Development Masters Programme. In addition, she leads on Forum’s work with national and local government. Recent work has included research into school leaders roles in managing sustainable school building projects (linking in to the Building Schools for the Future programme). Guidance and practical case studies have been produced for school leaders. Other work has included action research with leaders in the Further Education Sector on Leadership For Sustainability. For Defra, she led a capacity building programme and web resource for Type II international sustainable development partnerships.
She has worked with Forum for 2 years, initially leading on projects for the DCSF (or DFES) in integrating sustainability into post-16 Education.
Background
In the private sector; as a freelance trainer; in Higher Education – including tutoring on the Research Councils Graduate Schools and for NGOs. Prior to Forum, Jane managed training for VSO which included running a capacity building programme for locally engaged staff in Africa, Asia and the Pacific and sustainable livelihoods and cultural awareness training for VSO volunteers. She was seconded to programme management roles in Thailand (2003), the Solomon Islands (1997) and to the OSCE in Bosnia (2006). Her experience also covers running experiential learning programmes for undergraduates.
Education
She has an MA in Geography, is a trained facilitator and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
