Green Futures Partner
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organisation that was set up to promote solutions to overfishing and the associated environmental, social and economic problems. It does this through its ecolabel and and fishery certification programme. The MSC vision is one of the world’s oceans teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations.
The MSC works with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups and the public to contribute to the health of the world’s oceans by recognising and rewarding sustainable fishing practises, influencing the choices people make when buying seafood, and working with our partners to transform the seafood market to a sustainable basis.
This year, the MSC celebrates 10 years of operations since the first fisheries entered MSC assessment.
