Our Environmental Policy

Our Environmental Policy expresses our commitment to sustainability within our own organisation, across all our sites, and reinforces the link between our internal operations and our external mission.

Through managing the environmental impacts of our own business, we aim to inspire our stakeholders and encourage them to reduce their own adverse environmental impacts.

Impacts

Negative impacts

Our most significant adverse environmental impacts are:

  • Emissions to atmosphere from the use of carbon based energy in offices and fuel in transport
  • Consumption of resources by our use of energy, water, raw materials in publications, office supplies and furniture
  • Production of waste materials
  • The environmental performance of our suppliers

Positive impacts

Our most significant positive environmental impacts are the work we do through our stakeholders and suppliers to bring about positive systematic transformation in their environmental impacts.

Commitment

To deliver this Policy, Forum for the Future makes the following commitments for all of the organisation’s sites to:

  • Comply with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, applying the best available techniques;
  • Provide training for all staff and contractors so that they are familiar with our environmental systems and procedures;
  • Continually review and audit our Environmental Management System through the Forum for the Future SMT (Senior Management Team);
  • Maintain ISO14001 certification;
  • Use our resources, including research, development and capital, to meet these commitments in a manner that reflects and reinforces our mission;
  • Measure our progress in pursuing this Policy and report annually to our stakeholders.
