I'm blogging this on a weird little machine. It has green plastic keys (so forgive any typos), two little green ears, a screen about a third of an A4 page and is dead cool. It is the One Laptop per Child XO - a cheap machine to take to millions world wide.
Its very hardy (hence lots of durable features like the key pad), and can do wifi over 1 km. It has in-built USB-stick memory, so no moving parts, so long battery life. It's a bit difficult to use, if you're used to very high spec machine. But it has proven you can have web and everything ready for lots to bridge the digital divide.
Back to the conference now. But I'm impressed. Lets hope it causes a rush to the Bottom of the Pyramid.
