Paint stinks. But the good news for staff at Overseas House (aka Forum for the Future) is that the stuff now being applied to the office walls is Ecosure. Developed by ICI/Dulux, using Forum for the Future’s very own Impact Analyser, the new trade paint has reduced VOCs and less embedded carbon. In fact, it smells so good that even mum-to-be Vanessa Ravenscroft, with her heightened senses, could be persuaded to hug a tin or two.
Launched this month, Ecosure is good news for the planet but what do the pros have to say about it? I caught up with painter and decorator Dell Thorpe during his warm down after a heavy session on the 2nd floor:
Handling?
Dell: “When you’re brushing, it has a little bit of a texture but looks the same and has great coverage when dry.”
Finish?
Dell:i>"It doesn’t smell strong like normal paint. And there’s a nice range of colours, especially the yellow on the first floor toilets.”
With that kind of endorsement, Vanessa’s approval and the smiling faces in our refreshed building, Ecosure, it seems, is a big hit.
